After what seemed like months of waiting and constantly refreshing my email inbox I finally got the news I’ve been dying to hear. Upon jumping into the truck after a farm call in northern Vermont I saw a handful of text messages from my friends saying that NAVLE scores had been posted.
Almost instantly my heart rate shot through the roof and I was even more anxious because the farm was literally sitting on the Vermont Canadian border. With poor cell phone service, my old phone was connected to a Canadian tower so I wouldn’t be able to check my scores until traveling a few miles south. After what seemed like an eternity, we were finally in range of United States towers and I was able to attempt to get onto the score reporting website.
While my old slow phone struggled to load the page, it somehow came through for me. I’m so happy to say that I PASSED! After taking the exam and really having a difficult time with it, I never imagined that I would get a passing score on my first attempt. When I traveled to Vermont, I had brought my binder filled with study materials. I knew if I didn’t bring them that I would probably need them but if I did bring them I probably wouldn’t. So I was relieved to learn that I had brought them for nothing.
Upon checking Facebook, it was good to see that so many of my friends also had similar success. While it is an exciting day that many of us probably never imagined would actually happen, I’m ready to move onto bigger and better things. Graduation is closer than ever and I still have to find a job. I’ve almost accomplished my dreams and life couldn’t be any more exciting.
