They say the body doesn’t know the difference between nerves and excitement. In just 70 short days, my whole world will be turned upside down as I embark on the new journey of veterinary school. The list of emotions I am feeling is endless, but two stand out above the rest: nervousness and excitement.
So many changes are happening so quickly, and I must learn to stand on the edge of that cliff. With every task I complete towards preparing for vet school I take one step closer to the edge until my toes are hanging over the rim. Standing there I feel butterflies in the pit of my stomach and my heart beats faster. Is this from the excitement of the new and bold steps I am preparing to take or from nervousness, as I don’t know what to expect? The beauty is that regardless of whether the feeling is nerves or excitement, the moment you step past the edge of your comfort zone you can just enjoy the ride and let the wind take you.
I am so incredibly blessed for this opportunity of veterinary school. Whether it is nerves or utter enthusiasm, I can’t wait to begin and share my experiences along the way.
