I feel like I complain about my exams at every round we have them, but the truth is they just don’t get any better. In fact, they’ve gotten significantly worse as vet school has gone on (leaving out the major exception of barely scraping through physiology). We have more exams, definitely worse schedules as far as exams go, and the material is much more advanced. Information is only building at this point!
Luckily, we have two finals down, but still nine to go. Unfortunately for me, since I chose both electives this semester and was in surgery, my exam schedule is particularly terrible this week. Thursday is the surgery final, Friday is anesthesia, and then Saturday (yup, that’s right, Saturday) is musculoskeletal. So three exams, three days in a row is what the rest of my week looks like. I’ve been trying to prepare for the madness by making sure to have studied for anesthesia and musculoskeletal in advance so that I’m not frantically trying to get through the mass of information in one night. However, we’re still in class this week, which means we still don’t have all the material for what will be on the exams this week! Vet school is really a party.
Whining aside, it’s amazing that this is my second-to-last semester of exams! One semester of courses, and then it will be the NAVLE. Then no more exams forever! If that’s not motivation to get these beasts out of the way, I don’t know what is.
