Almost everyone in vet school has experienced times where they’ve felt unmotivated and stuck. I get it. I’m at the point where I’ve been in school for so long that I’m physically and mentally exhausted. Now that I’m in my last semester of my third-year, I’m finding it harder to stay motivated and focused. So how am I combating this? Well, I’ve been planning trips or activities to do on the weekends or over breaks so that I have something to look forward to! When I know I have an upcoming event that I’m excited for, I’m even more motivated and determined to get things done during the weekday. I make sure to utilize my planner to the extreme! I block out class time, study time, exercise time, and give myself deadlines. So far this has worked well for me this semester and I plan to continue doing so. Here are the events/trips I’m currently looking forward to this year!
- Friends visiting me from out of state
- My mom visiting from Japan
- Trip to Washington D.C
- SAVMA Symposium
- Costa Rica
- White Coat Ceremony
- South Africa
This year is going to be full of excitement and hard work! What are you looking forward to in 2019?
