It’s no secret that I like social media. It’s given me an opportunity to connect with many amazing individuals in the veterinary field and also help many people. When I started my veterinary Instagram account in January of 2018, I had NO IDEA how many incredible individuals I would have the opportunity to connect with and even meet. I think it’s only fair that I share these awesome people with you all! I am sharing 12 of my favorite influencers to watch AND learn from! Check out these awesome humans (listed in no particular order)!
Lauren— @vet.lauren

Lauren is a recent graduate and new intern exploring the real world. If there’s one thing I love about this girl, it’s her realness, rawness, and willingness to help veterinary students. She has become a great friend of mine and a big part of my support system. Her page is all about sharing her journey, helping others, and giving the BEST advice ever.
Ashley— @thedermvet

Ashley is taking the Instagram world by storm. She’s conquering the world of veterinary dermatology, motherhood, and fitness. I absolutely love that I can go to her page and see what it’s like to have work-life balance but also learn more in-depth information with her dermatologic cases! This is a field I am so interested in and her cases and posts are extremely informative and entertaining!
Snout School founded by Danielle Lambert— @snout.school
If you need a daily dose of positivity, empowerment, and veterinary humor well Snout School is for you. This page was created to bring together the veterinary community while also teaching others how to channel their inner greatness and social media mavens. I’ve met so many amazing people from this page and it will be one that you won’t want to live without.
Seth— @drseththevet

If you’re a regular to Merck’s Vet Student Stories then this is someone you already know. He is an amazing writer, creator, and now, veterinarian! I had the pleasure of doing a podcast with him and I cannot believe all that he’s accomplished while not only being a veterinary student/vet but also a husband and father. I can’t wait to keep following his journey and you should too!
Shelby— @traveling_dogtor

I first connected with Shelby over our love for traveling the world and exploring new places. Little did I know we’d become such good friends. She’s a third-year veterinary student sharing her journey while spreading positivity and advice. She is also a yogi! There’s nothing this woman can’t do.
Hezy— @hezyfezybushvet

Hezy is hands down one of the coolest humans I’ve had the pleasure to learn from. She was one of my mentors during my rotation in Malawi and I was able to help with many of the clinical projects in One Health. She is passionate about conservation medicine, adventure, and educating. I look forward to crossing paths with her again! This definitely is an account to follow if you’re wanting more wildlife and One Health in your feed!
Sarah— @thenewgradvet

This is an account that I have absolutely been loving. She spills the tea about what it looks like to be a real veterinarian right after graduating. The thing I love about this page is that it’s 100% real and extremely helpful. She’s been helping me with my own questions and also dishing out awesome advice for preparing for the NAVLE. I love seeing what life will be like as a new grad!
MarkRoy Consulting @MarkRoyVet

These awesome veterinarians are taking the business world by the horns. If you want to learn more about what it takes to be a practice owner well then this is absolutely the page you need to follow. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting them and will be externing with them soon!
Stevie—@doctorstevie
New veterinarian out in the world spreading her love for animals and spreading knowledge to pet parents on Instagram! Her page is a great mix of work and life shenanigans. She is a super awesome human and definitely a page you need to be following!
Tannetje’—@dr.tannetje.crocker

Dr. Crocker’s page is full of experience and advice for veterinary students and other veterinarians. I’ve learned great tips on client communication and have even been able to learn more about common diseases seen in our pets! It’s very clear she has a passion for veterinary medicine but also mentoring young minds!
Andy—@vetstudentandy
This clinical year student is one that is going to do HUGE things! He’s a fellow Merck Vet Stories writer but also a go-getter and advocate for one health. He is responsible for founding this awesome group and is someone I look up to!
From a human nurse to veterinary nurse, Rob is spreading his love for wildlife and conservation through his Instagram page. I had the pleasure of working alongside him when I was in Malawi and learned SO MUCH. If you need more wildlife posts in your life then give this guy a follow!
