Every year for Halloween, our vet school hosts a cook-out on the patio outside the school where faculty, vet students, and pets alike can celebrate the holiday. The Canine Medicine Club then conducts a costume contest to determine the four-legged friends dressed in the scariest, funniest, and most creative costumes.
It’s so much fun to see the vet school join together and show off their creative side. From Jurassic Park dinosaurs to Winne-the-Pooh and his gang, many wonderful costumes and characters made an appearance.
I love being able to come together with my classmates and professors and enjoy Halloween together. Because, let’s face it…who DOESN’T love to see a pug dressed up as a unicorn, or a Golden Retriever as a pumpkin?
Events like this make vet school special. They allow us to socialize outside the classroom and take our minds off our studies for a little while. I’m sure that down the road when looking back on my time in vet school, these are the moments we’ll remember the most.
