Dear Mentor,
First off, let me begin by thanking you for taking me under your wing. Not that you may have had much of an option in the matter, but I appreciate you taking on the extra responsibility of another ornery student. Coming in with so few experiences and only a single year of veterinary school under my belt, I know how nerve wrecking it could have been trying to show me the ropes.
You have made such a huge impact on my life. In the 10 weeks, I have learned more than I could have ever imagined. You pushed me to test my knowledge of veterinary medicine, learn more and critically think through a wide array of situations. Though I am already appreciative, I know I will be even more appreciative years down the road when I am in your shoes.
I have had many mentors in veterinary medicine over the years, but I have never had one so patient and determined to teach as you are. You have given me so many opportunities for growth for which I cannot thank you enough. You have truly made me a stronger, more independent student, learner and future veterinarian, and I cannot thank you enough.
Sincerely,
Sara

You are all heroes and have served as a great channel for us to further pursue the aspects of veterinary medicine that excite us. You will always be important aspects of our lives and we couldn’t have done it without you.
