During these quarantine times, many of us have a little extra time at home and this is a perfect time to work on our professional goals. It’s time to continue learning and exploring veterinary topics that we might or might not be familiar with. Today, I wanted to share with you some websites that offer free veterinary webinars or Zoom classes.
#1 CEVA Connect Continuing Education offers race-approved online courses from 0.5 hours to 2 hours. Some of the major topics are dermatology diseases/treatments, heartworm disease, oral health, and behavior problems. After watching the video lecture, you will complete a quiz and then you can download your certificate.
#2 The ASPCA PRO Webinar series offers a lot of great resources on several topics. Most of the webinars are one hour long and allows you to download a pdf of the presentation. Some of the major topics are behavior, spay/neuter protocols, equine welfare, animal cruelty, and more.
#3 The Boehringer Academy offers webinars and other free resources on small and large animal medicine. The equine section has a lot of webinars about topics such as chronic uveitis, colic management, endocrine diseases, and more. There is also a podcast section available and veterinary students can sign up for free.
#4 Cat classes with Dr. Gary Marshall on Zoom are held every Wednesday and Friday. In these classes, Dr. Marshall discusses many important health issues affecting felines. Some topics discussed previously include hyperthyroidism, diabetes, dentistry, dermatology, and more. You can access the link webinar in the bio of Dr. Marshall on Instagram (@it.might.get.weird).
For last, all of these are great educational resources for all, and they will add some value to your resume or curriculum!
