These past two weeks I have been on my Radiology rotation at school which I have really liked. Not only do I enjoy the land of grey and black, I also love the schedule. For the most part, we work nine to five each day with a short weekend shift. This means I get home at a normal time, go to the gym, and actually get to cook myself dinner. I have so much free time, I barely know what to do with myself.
I’ve decided to be as productive as possible. I’ve been going to the gym every day. Making time for yoga. Cooking healthy dinners. Cleaning my apartment a little bit each day to stay on top of it. I have a tendency to let things go when I get busy or stressed. This week I’m doing my best to reverse the bad habits that I have created over the past few months.
One of my favorite things that I’ve been doing this week is making time for self-care. For me, this means spending more time on my beauty routine. Getting to relax and put on a face mask. Whiten my teeth each night instead of rushing to bed. Go to bed at a reasonable hour and pack a lunch before heading to school.
These things may sound like subtle changes, but they have wholeheartedly increased my morale over the past two weeks. I feel much more relaxed each day. I look forward to my routine when I get home from school. My only hope is that I can stick to it once times get tough or my schedule becomes a bit more hectic. I want to set myself up for not only a semester but a lifetime of success.
