Summer is finally here, and it has never felt better. Unlike most people, I always like to be on my feet and doing hands-on things. This certainly doesn’t sound like a recipe for success in school, because most of my time is spent sitting in a classroom. But somehow I am able to do very well. Thankfully now that summer is here, I can finally go out and do hands-on things.
Summer so far has been busier than ever, and I couldn’t be happier. Each day consists of going somewhere and doing something productive. Mainly working at one of my three or so jobs, mixed in with spending time with various family members. Right now I am writing this blog from the house where I am animal-sitting for the weekend, after having done 10 hours at my job at a local hardware store. And I’ll be doing the same tomorrow…..I know I’m crazy – no one has to tell me that.
It seems like everyone I talk to says that fourth year is a beast and I should be prepared for long days and little sleep. But based on how it sounds, I can’t wait for it to come. Even though it may be very time consuming and a lot of work, that is where I am at my best because I love to stay busy. As long as I am working and doing something that keeps me physically and mentally engaged, it doesn’t matter how many hours I must do a day or how many days per week.
Now that I am about to finish this post, I think I will relax by watching some TV for a few hours. As one of my bosses says each time I talk to him, “There’s always something to do.”
