So, the “little quiz” is over, and I have survived. It was exhausting mentally, but I came out of that exam smiling like a giddy fool because the NAVLE was done! Provided I passed, it means I will not have to write an exam again, unless of course for some reason I decide to go back and specialize. Right now, specializing is not in the cards, so last exam ever!
It didn’t feel great taking it. Very few questions I answered one hundred percent confidently, others I worked through logically and I think came to a reasonable answer. Then, there were some that I had no clue, and apparently, my set of NAVLE questions thought that I was the resident parrot expert because I got a least a dozen questions on pet birds.
Luckily, I have no rotations scheduled for the holiday break, and I am very happy to finally be spending my free time catching up on the stuff I missed doing. While on rotations, and studying for the boards, it seemed I had little to no time to do anything I enjoyed. Now, I’m home and free! Today, for example, I slept in, listened to two webinars (can’t completely ditch the vet stuff), rode my horse, made a quiche, and now I’m set up by the nice, warm, wood stove to do some knitting. I’m not so patiently waiting for the results of my exam, but for now, I’m going to enjoy the time off from school and studying.
