It was down to the wire – for NAVLE results that is. We knew that at any time that week we would receive our scores and know if we had passed the most difficult exam of our lives. It was nerve-wracking in the hospital. You could feel the buzz of excitement and nervous energy. Students were checking their emails at every free moment. I tried my best to put the NAVLE at the back of my mind. I didn’t want to stress over the imminent results. My score was out of my hands at this point. I was just hoping for the best and going through the motions of fourth-year.
Then it happened. I was out for dinner with one of my classmates when my phone vibrated. I had gotten an email that my scores had been published and to check the website. I looked my friend square in the eye and exclaimed, “Check your email!” I didn’t realize it until a few moments later but I was shaking. It took a little bit of convincing, but we decided it was best to open the emails together.
The other patrons in the restaurant were rather startled when we both screamed out loud. Tears of joy welled in our eyes. A huge weight was lifted from our shoulders. We could now look toward our future endeavors without worry. This was one of the greatest moments of our lives and lucky for us, we got to spend it together. It was certainly a moment I will cherish always.
