I would really like to say that I just completed my last exam ever, but as my profs keep saying, “We have that pesky little quiz next year,” — aka the NAVLE. However, I was absolutely on cloud nine when I walked out of my last vet school final on Tuesday. No more late nights cramming. No more weeks on end of bad diet and sitting in a chair studying. No more midterms. No more finals. No more exams!
I’m usually one of the first to finish exams, as I don’t like to second guess myself and go with my initial gut instinct. I cruised through my last exam in typical form and left that room trying to contain my enthusiasm. One of my classmates had also finished, and as I exited the room, we skipped toward each other into a huge hug. We finally had made it! We’re going on to the fourth-year and have completely finished our classroom years. It was really an amazing feeling.
As the rest of my classmates trickled out of the exam room, the party got started. We put on some music, people were dancing in the hallways and someone even brought celebratory snacks. We all laughed and talked about anything but our exam (a rare post-test feat). We were smiling and just in general being more happy than we had all been in the previous month. It was a great moment that I’m sure I’ll always remember.
